Fully electric for FedEx
FedEx Express’s is adding 33 new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vans to its ground fleet for its operations in Spain. The 3.5 t vans will be allocated to the company’s parcel pickup and delivery operations in Madrid and Barcelona. They will be recharged at 33 charging points divided among the two sites, thus ensuring renewable energy supplies and a dynamic power management for quick overnight charging.
The collaboration with Mercedes-Benz will help FedEx Express to reach its emissions targets. With a phased electrification of its own parcel pickup and delivery fleet, the company hopes to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2040. FedEx Express is already deploying EVs in its operations in the UK, Netherlands, and France. (mk)
