Fully electric deliveries in Tampere’s city centre
DB Schenker is expanding its green distribution services in Finland with the opening of a new cargo terminal. Five fully electric trucks will soon begin operating in Lempäälä and serve Tampere’s city centre.
The terminal has a total area of nearly 18,000 sqm, with 12,000 sqm of heated space and 3,900 sqm of unheated loading space in an outdoor hall.
The energy needed to recharge the vehicles in the fleet will be provided by the company's own solar power plant throughout the year apart from the winter months. The solar energy infrastructure has a surface area of 1,750 sqm, a rated output of 250 kWp and an estimated annual yield of 200 MWh. (ben)
