Fuelled by growing air cargo volumes
Samskip has established a dedicated air freight business, adding significant new options to a service portfolio that already includes rail, road, shortsea and inland waterway links in Europe and global cargo logistics solutions.
"Samskip Air" has opened its doors at new offices at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The "one stop shop" logistics options already available to Samskip generate 850,000 teu in container traffic each year, as well as sizeable general, breakbulk and project cargo volumes.
The division is managed by Hans Blauw, who has a 35-year experience in the air freight business, including executive positions with KLM, Hellman Worldwide, Fedex, TNT and ALM (Aircraft Load Management). He reports to Mon Verstegen, general manager freight forwarding, Samskip Logistics. (ah)
