From racing to robots

Driftshop, a manufacturer of motorsport equipment, is inaugurating a new 8,000 sqm site in Ensisheim (Alsace, France) this month. The new hub will feature a robotic solution courtesy of Scallog.

Of the total area, more than 1,000 sqm of space will be used for Scallog’s Goods to Person solution. This will see 250 mobile shelves transported by 14 robots to three picking and restocking stations. Off the back of an annual growth of over 25%, Driftshop will be able to make use of the new space to enhance its operations and add to its existing base in Berrwiller.

Driftshop was founded in 2010 by three motorsport enthusiasts and has since become a major e-tailer both within and outside France. It generates a turnover of more than EUR 22 million and recently acquired BPS Racing, an Alsatian equipment manufacturer, to strengthen its network. The new site in Ensisheim is set to open in June 2024. (mk)
