From old to new

Logistics developer DFI Real Estate has acquired the approximately 84,000 sqm site of the former logistics centre of spare parts dealer ATU in Bavaria.

The dismantling of the facility is scheduled to begin in the middle of the year, with a planned completion date for the new unit in Q4/2023. The total usable space will consist of 46,700 sqm of warehouse space and 2,000 sqm each of office and mezzanine space.

With the dismantling of the previous facility, as many building materials as possible are to be recycled and, in particular, approximately 7,000 t of steel are to be returned to the raw materials cycle. By way of comparison, the steel structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs approximately 7,300 t. (sh)
