From Istanbul to Budapest in four days
The new service, which was officially launched last weekend, is operated by Pacific Eurasia as the first private rail operator in Turkey to run an international train. According to the country’s ministry of transport, 600 trains per year are set to transport 750,000 t of export goods on this new Istanbul (Turkey) - Budapest (Hungary) route.
The first train to Hungary was dispatched at a ceremony in Istanbul last weekend and has since arrived in Budapest. It crossed Bulgaria and Romania on its 1,549 km long journey and reached Budapest four days later. (ben)
