From cartons to multiuse packaging
Smart Container Loop is planning five more years of collaboration with the German electronics retailer. The companies have been working together on sustainable distribution since 2019.
Expert SE, a retail group for consumer electronics and IT, has switched to a reusable system for its packages thanks to Smart Container Loop. This features specially designed containers with lids that can be tracked and traced en route.
From its hub in Langenhagen, Expert SE packages its goods using automation and then delivers them nationwide. Building on this shared expertise, the companies are looking to extend their partnership until 2049, aiming to work towards more sustainable packaging solutions. The current system enables Expert SE to save around 50% of CO2 emissions in comparison to standard, single-use packaging. (mk)
