From California to the Middle East
Aramex, a Dubai-based provider of express delivery and logistics services to emerging economies, and Odys Aviation, a sustainable aviation company from Long Beach and manufacturer of hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, are partnering to develop cargo operations in the Middle East.
Designed in multiple configurations for cargo, the aircraft will be able to deliver all-electric propulsion for distances up to 320 km and a hybrid-electric range of over 1,200 km. The company plans to launch a full-scape prototype later this year.
Flights operated with these aircraft have the potential to reduce carbon emissions on pan-GCC flights by up to 76% and provide a zero-carbon air cargo alternative for routes in the UAE, Oman and beyond. (ah)
