Freshness from Japan
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has launched the first dual temperature refrigerated container trial with controlled atmosphere (CA) functions.
This new type of container, developed in collaboration with Pan Pacific International Holdings (PPIH) and NAX Japan, is designed to transport perishable goods and fruits from Japan to "Don Quijote" stores globally. It features two temperature zones and CA functions that extend the shelf life of produce.
The container's flexible partition can adjust to different temperature needs, making it versatile and efficient. This initiative aims to reduce transport costs, CO2 emissions, and food loss while enhancing the export of Japanese agricultural products. It is supported by a subsidy from Japan’s ministry of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. (pb)
