French takeover in CEP segment
It is a Franco-German wedding. Group Sterne is taking over the provider nox Nacht Express. Founded in 1972, Groupe Sterne has developed three complementary service solutions for its business in Europe (time-critical, urban and day express, in the aftersales market) alongside its established transport and night express services.
Nox Nacht Express operates in Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries, employs around 1,000 people and most recently achieved an annual turnover of over EUR 280 million. The newly created group will comprise a total of over 80 depots in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The proposed transaction is expected to close in Q2/2022, subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities. (sh)
