Freight's out, and away we go!
DHL and Formula 1 are extending their 20-year logistics partnership in a new multi-year deal to create more sustainable solutions for the sport and achieve their net zero goal for 2030.
The two companies have seen many changes in the sport since the beginning of their collaboration, such as the considerable extension of the calendar to 24 annual races as well as several efforts to cut the carbon emissions of the transports involved. With the introduction of biofuel trucks and fuel-efficient aircraft, DHL has supported Formula 1 in approaching its net zero targets.
Behind the scenes, each race can require logistics operations for up 1,400 t of high-value freight. 100 motorsport specialists on DHL’s team will begin their work in time for this season’s first race in Bahrain on the 2 March 2024. (mk)
