Freight hub is Czechia’s most sustainable building
Rhenus Czech Republic opened a new warehouse in Prague one year ago. Breeam has now ranked the facility as the most sustainable industrial building in the country. The modern site, built by the European developer CTP, beat off competition from 100’s other projects in the assessment institute’s ‘industrial’ category.
The warehouse in Prague serves as the Rhenus groupage freight hub for transporting goods. The building, which measures 14,000 sqm, is located in CT Park Prague West, south of Prague Airport, and Rhenus Czech Republic uses it as a transhipment point (cross-dock) and warehouse for its customers.
The site achieved 92.1% in the overall Breeam assessment. It has eco-friendly components such as LED lighting and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems which supply the new structure with sustainable energy. The facility has been equipped with a modern warehousing management system and CCTV monitoring for better security and efficiency. (ben)
