Freight forwarders add air cargo capacities
While Dachser USA Air & Sea Logistics, a subsidiary of global logistics provider Dachser, is announcing that over 85% of its customers have utilised the weekly Frankfurt - Chicago - Frankfurt service more than once since it began a year ago, yet another logistics services provider is launching self-controlled airfreight services with own-leased aircraft.
Operating between Amsterdam, London, Chicago and Hong Kong, the A330-200 freighter will also serve the China – Europe route for the peak season. The first flight will take off this month.
Eric Martin-Neuville, EVP freight forwarding: "Our 'Air Direct' service has operated over 650 charter flights so far [...] in order to secure capacity for our customer shipments worldwide. The experience gained from these operations has led to the decision to charter our own Geodis Freighter." (ah)
