Frankfurt now part of the New Silk Road
A goods train from the Chinese provincial capital Jinan arrived in the container terminal of Contargo Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst (Germany) for the first time recently, which means the greater Frankfurt region is now also connected to the New Silk Road. The railway transit time between Jinan and Frankfurt comes to 18 to 20 days.
Contargo first ran an initial test train; it now expects goods trains from Jinan at the terminal in Frankfurt two to three times a month. In addition, trains from various other Chinese regions will arrive in Frankfurt in the coming weeks, according to the hinterland transport specialist. Contargo tranships goods and forwards containers to customers through local traffic at the Frankfurt industrial park. (ben)
