"FRA-OS" for innovative cargo data exchange
Fraport AG, the operator of Frankfurt airport, one of the major cargo hubs in Europe, is developing a digital data exchange platform for freight handling.
The project is carried out in cooperation with the German customs office, the regional freight forwarding and logistics association SLV, the association of air cargo handlers in Germany, the IT solutions provider Dakosy and other partners from the airport's cargo community.
The new platform, "FRA-OS", is intended to serve as a digital marketplace providing numerous applications for process optimisation, starting with "FRA-Import". Max Philipp Conrady, head of cargo infrastructure and development: "We expect the import platform to deliver significant benefits regarding the presentation of goods for customs clearance." (ah)
