Fourteen locomotives for international trade
The FS Group’s logistics hub is expanding its fleet of interoperable locomotives: It recently signed a five-year agreement with the European electric locomotive leasing company Mitsui Rail Capital Europe (MRCE), which will supply 14 Siemens Vectron E193 DACHINL locomotives.
They will be mainly used to reinforce international trade, in particular with the Netherlands. The purpose of the new agreement with MRCE is to facilitate the modal shift from long distance road haulage to rail transport to help ease road traffic.
MRCE has nine different electrical AC, DC or multisystem (MS) variants in operation that are certified for a total of eleven countries. (ben)
