Four cranes for two of Yilport's Latin American terminals
Yilport Holding, headquartered in Turkey, now number twelve in the ranking of global container terminal and port operators, recently ordered four mobile harbour cranes for two terminals in Latin America.
Two of the cranes will be deployed in Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala) as from mid-2019, followed by two others in Puerto Bolivar (Ecuador) just two months after that. The diesel-electric model 8 mobile harbour cranes from Konecranes will handle mainly containers. They will be used to extend cargo handling operations in terminals in Latin America, where Yilport started in Puerto Bolivar in 2016.
The four model 8 mobile harbour cranes are two-rope G HMK 8410 cranes. They provide lifting capacities of up to 100t and an outreach of up to 61m, enabling them to handle containers across 19 rows alongside large vessels. (kd)
