For greener supply chain in Thailand
The Thai grocery retailer Big C and DHL are planning to deploy electric trucks, initially for product distribution in Thailand, from the Big C Wangnoi Distribution Centre to Big C branches in Bangkok. Big C is also considering using other types of electric vehicles to deliver its products to stores in other locations in the near future.
This deployment of the 100% electric powered trucks represents a significant step forward in the companies’ collaborative effort to build a sustainable supply chain.
The electric trucks will be managed by the DHL connected control tower, which utilises advanced technologies such as the Paragon route optimisation system, a transport management system, telematics, and a digital platform to maximise transport efficiency. (ben)
