For "green terminals" on three continents
Bolloré Ports, a major operator of port terminals in Africa, Asia and the Americas, has introduced the "green terminal" certification process in order to reduce the company's carbon footprint by using a methodology that covers all environmental issues.
A first in the port sector, this approach has been validated by Bureau Veritas. Bolloré Ports' green terminal label is based on the pillars of the ISO 14001 standard, eco-social commitment to local stakeholders, building infrastructure in accordance with international standards, the implementation of digital and environmentally friendly handling solutions, the collection, recovery and recycling of waste, water and air treatment and control and finally the training of employees in best practices related to environmental issues. Starting this year, Bureau Veritas experts will support Bolloré Ports in the deployment of the label. (sh)
