Football and logistics
The football club Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and the RAG-Stiftung, which oversees economic restructuring after the closing down of the coal mining industry, are now both part of startport. The subsidiary of Duisport, which runs the port of Duisburg, is an innovation platform for the Ruhr area.
“We have won two strong partners in the region that have a long experience in developing innovative ideas for the logistics industry. We are very proud of this achievement,” Duisport’s CEO Erich Staake says. The new partners open up opportunities for start-ups to cooperate with established companies in joint projects.
And the partners can benefit from the new solutions supplied by the start-ups. “The purpose of our partnership is to strengthen company founders and their innovations in the region,” BVB’s CEO Carsten Cramer adds. (mw)
