Fleet renewal for more sustainable transport
The German haulier Craiss has added a truck powered by liquefied natural gas to its fleet. The automotive specialist will deploy the vehicle in Germany between its headquarters in Mühlacker and Hamburg and for deliveries to North Rhine-Westphalia.
With a range of 1,000 to 1,100 km, the LNG truck can cover these distances without intermediate refuelling. However, refuelling stops will be available on the routes to ensure that the truck never runs out of gas.
Craiss is planning to purchase more vehicles with alternative drive systems to make its entire fleet climate-neutral in the future. It has already odered two electric trucks. (ben)
