Five weekly flights to West Africa
IAG Cargo is introducing a new direct route to Dakar, Senegal from Madrid, running five times a week with Iberia A330 and A350, as the company responds to increasing demand for the transportation of goods to West Africa.
Freddie Overton, regional commercial manager for Europe and Africa: "This is an exciting new route for IAG Cargo that will benefit many businesses across Europe and West Africa."
Each flight's capacity of 20 t and 30 t will facilitate the importation of electronics and pharmaceuticals into Dakar. The carrier's network will also allow perishables such as green beans, mangos, melons, and fish to reach USA and Asia Pacific via Madrid.
In total, IAG Cargo now operates over 25 flights a week to the region, flying directly to Accra (Ghana) and Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos) from London-Heathrow. (ah)
