Five trains per week

Arcese has launched a new rail connection between Italy and Germany. The intermodal freight service runs between Bologna and Cologne and has been in operation since mid-January. The new train passes through the Ceneri Base Tunnel in Switzerland, directly linking central Italy with the Ruhr.

The service kicks off with five departures per week and a transit time of less than 20 hours. It will link the Emilia, Tuscany and Marche regions directly with the Ruhr and allow the movement of up to 15,000 large semi-trailers (P400) per year.

Arcese’s multimodal network now includes connections throughout Europe: from Spain to Romania, from Turkey to Scandinavia with more than 50 daily departures. (ben)
