First transport to Ukraine in 2024

Switzerland’s foreign office has announced this year’s first aid delivery to Ukraine. Regular shipments have been travelling between Switzerland and Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

The latest delivery includes (replacement) material for humanitarian demining, firefighting, and firefighting vehicles as well as medical supplies. This follows on from the delivery of firefighting and ambulance vehicles at the end of 2023.

At the end of September 2023, the Swiss government approved funds totalling CHF 100 million to enable the demining of civilian and agricultural areas and reconstruction in Ukraine. The current transport has a total value of around CHF 900,000. Most of the material comes from the ministry of defence, civil protection, and sport, while some was donated by the town of Burgdorf.
