First train runs along trans-Siberian landbridge
The Russian companies Fesco and RZD Logistics have launched their trans-Siberian landbridge, a joint transit service for the express delivery of goods from Japan to Europe. The train uses the trans-Siberian railway through the Russian Far East.
On 23 May, 2019, a test container was dispatched from the port of Yokohama (Japan). The trans-Siberian landbridge's intermodal chain connects Japanese ports to the commercial port of Vladivostok, the trans-Siberian railway, Brest and various destinations in Europe.
The total transit time is 19 days. The test container with non-hazardous chemical products shipped from the port of Yokohama to Wroclaw (Poland), is due to arrive in mid-June. (ben)
