First time bunkering of a UECC vessel
United European Car Carriers (UECC), a provider of sustainable short sea ro-ro transportation in Europe and its partners Dutch biofuel provider Goodfuels and vessel owner NYK have successfully completed a delivery of sustainable biofuel in the port of Vlissingen.
Daniel Gent, energy and sustainability manager for UECC: “We demonstrate our unwavering commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and providing cleaner transport options.”
Goodfuels’ biofuel reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional fossil fuels: UECC is taking a proactive approach to reducing its environmental impact while delivering cleaner and more sustainable transport services to customers across Europe.
Thanks to Goodfuels' delivery of the B30 blend, 470 t of VLSFO and sustainable biofuel, and NYK's technical support throughout the operation, this the first time a UECC time-chartered vessel, m/v “Emerald Leader”, has been bunkered with biofuel. (lh)
