First heavy-duty e-lorry for Basel
The Swiss forwarder Camion Transport has received its first heavy-duty electric truck for its Basel site – a Renault Trucks ‘E-Tech D Wide P4x2’.
An identical truck will be delivered to the branch in Cadenazzo, in the Swiss canton of Ticino, where a fully electric truck is already in operation.
The family-owned company operates a fleet of 610 commercial vehicles, including trucks powered by hybrid, electric and hydrogen technology. Camion Transport has 15 centres in Switzerland, with 205,000 m² of warehousing space and 64,000 m² of transhipment facilities.
Renault Trucks’ D series is designed for distribution and other uses. Its agile construction allows for easy manoeuvring in urban and suburban areas. (ben)
