First e-truck to transport containers
Contargo in Hamburg, Germany, is now carrying out part of its local deliveries for Tchibo with a fully electric truck. The logistics service provider is transporting containers of green coffee between the port of Hamburg and the coffee warehouse and using two Volvo FH Electric trucks for this purpose.
The electric truck is part of the recently launched "Econtargo" project, with which the company will successively expand its electric truck fleet to 32 vehicles and invest in a comprehensive charging infrastructure at all Contargo locations.
With a range of up to 300 km and charging systems that enable recharging within two hours, Contargo can deploy the e-trucks around the clock as flexibly as diesel trucks. (ben)
