First chairwoman for Cargolux

Cargolux has appointed Christianne Wickler as the airline's chairwoman of its board of directors. Wickler is an entrepreneur and mother of four who first managed a petrol station, taken over from her father, in Oberpallen in 1982. She then developed the Pall Center, a group of supermarkets and grocery stores that she managed for 38 years.

The co-founder of the citizens’ collective ‘5fir12’ (five to twelve) entered politics in 2013 as a Green Party candidate for northern Luxembourg in the legislative elections. She was elected to parliament but then resigned to continue to look after her family and business, which employs more than 300 people. (amh)
