First cargo airline achieves San Marino AOC
Founded in 2018, San Marino Executive Aviation has become the first cargo airline to achieve the AOC of the Republic of San Marino, which as of April, had the highest death rate per capita due to Covid-19 of any country.
SMEA started flying an A300-600R (maximum payload 47.5 t) at the end of 2019 and recently carried out 27 charter flights from China to Italy. It will also serve other EU destinations and continue its medical missions till the end of June.
Waked Jayyousi, SMEA's accountable manager: "We have demonstrated to the San Marino CAA that our special cargo operations meet international standards during such a vulnerable and critical period."
David Colindres, president of the San Marino aircraft registry, acclaimed SMEA not only for becoming first air cargo airline on the SMAR, "but also for its efforts and support with medical supplies during the pandemic." (ah)
