First B737-800BCF to operate in South Asia


SpiceXpress, the cargo division of the India-based SpiceJet, has taken delivery of its first B737-800 Boeing converted freighter (BCF). Ajay Singh, SpiceJet's chairman and managing director: "We are expanding the markets we currently serve, particularly in the Middle East, Hong Kong and Bangladesh and the plane's reliability and versatility is helping us to continue this strategy."

 

The standard-body freighter with a capacity of 23.9 t, the first to be operated in South Asia, is on lease from NGF Alpha, a division of Texas (USA)-based Spectre Cargo Solutions. Jordan Jaffe, Spectre Air Capital CEO: "It’s exciting to bring the 737-800 freighter to India, a market we see growing in the coming years. SpiceJet joins a growing family of customers utilising our diverse product range of freighters." (ah)
