First 20,000 teu in Genoa
Cosco Shipping is enhancing its Asia Mediterranean service (AEM1) by adding four 400 m long giants, with the ‘Cosco Shipping Aries’ to make regular calls at the port of Genoa, starting on 19 March. Cosco Shipping is thus the first company to bring a 20,000 teu vessel to Italy's largest port for containerised direct traffic.
The ‘Cosco Shipping Aries’, which made history in 2018 as the first 20,000 teu class ship from China to call at the HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort in Hamburg, continues to set records.
The AEM1 service rotation includes ports such as Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Piraeus, La Spezia, Genova, Fos, Valencia, and returns to Singapore and Qingdao. (nauticus)
