Fifth warehouse in India

Maersk India has just opened a new warehouse in Bhiwandi on the outskirts of Mumbai. With a surface of 23,000 sqm, the new facility will be the company’s fifth warehouse inaugurated this year in India after Sikandrabad in Uttar Pradesh, Kolkata in West Bengal, and Pune and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra.

Including the warehouses from the recently completed acquisition of LF Logistics, the carrier's total footprint now covers 195,000 sqm.

The client on the spot is JK Tyre, one of India’s major tyre manufacturers and is 22nd largest manufacturer in the world. A global force, JK Tyre is present in 105 countries with over 180 global distributors.

The company's twelve global manufacturing plants - nine in India & three in Mexico - produce around 33 million tyres annually. Located on the Mumbai - Nashik highway, the facility provides connectivity to the manufacturing hubs and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai. (sh)
