Fiege sets milestone in strategic location
Last Friday, 30 August, the Westphalia (Germany)-based freight forwarder Fiege officially inaugurated its new logistics centre in Bülach, Switzerland.
As Vinko Castrogiovanni (second from right), managing director Southern Europe & Alps, explained, it offers 17,000 sqm of warehouse space on two levels in a location that is ideal in several respects: it is close to the EU border, in Switzerland’s strongest economic region and in the immediate vicinity of Zurich airport.
Fiege's modern facility, which only broke ground in May 2023, is designed to handle more than 8.2 million items per year. It fulfils high sustainability standards and, according to Jens Fiege (third from right), co-CEO of the Fiege Group, it reflects the trust the 151-year-old family-owned company has in the Swiss market, its fourth most important market worldwide.
