Fercam expands into the Ukraine
The transport and logistics company Fercam, which is headquartered in South Tyrol (Italy), has founded a subsidiary in the Ukraine. As a transit country on the way to Russia, Kazakhstan and Central Asia, the Ukraine is a good starting point, Fercam says.
“In our offices in Bolzano, Verona and Milan, we have been organising transport and logistics services to the former Soviet republics for many years. With our office in Kiev we can improve these services and cooperate with local partners,” says Thomas Baumgartner, president of Fercam.
At the moment, Fercam’s team in Kiev is focusing on road haulage services from the Ukraine to Europe. The Ukrainian subsidiary is also responsible for customs clearance and the distribution of the imported goods. In Kiev, Fercam has medium-term plans to add an air freight and sea freight department to its European road haulage network. (mw)
