FedEx expands Czech capacity
FedEx has doubled its capacity in Czechia with a new facility spanning 2,600 sqm of warehousing and office spaces. The hub in Plzeň additionally offers 23 docking bays for courier vans and eight docks for linehaul vehicles. Set to streamline operations, the site is equipped with a motorised belt sorter with DIM capabilities and powered by PV panels and an EV charging station.
From Plzeň, FedEx can further connect its Czech logistics portfolio to its wider European road network, with a particular focus on the city’s industrial, mechanical engineering, food processing and energy production markets.
The facility offers access to the company’s four other sites in Czechia as well as links to Nuremberg, Vienna, Hannover, and air transport routes via Prague airport. This is another step in FedEx’s expansion journey over the past four years, in which the provider has developed and modernised logistics hubs in six CEE countries. (mk)
