Faster France - China transports
Contargo has now added export transports to China from Northern France to its portfolio. The Escaut Valenciennes Terminal, operated by the trimodal container hinterland transport specialist, is one of the newer players on the Silk Road between China and Europe.
For about a year now, Contargo has been offering an alternative route from China to Europe, combining rail and inland waterway transport. The containers reach northern France after having been transferred from the train to an inland barge in Duisburg in Germany.
Now, French shippers can also have their containers transported to China via Valenciennes. At 20 days, the containers take half as long by land as by sea. (ben)
