Faster and more efficient
The Rhenus Group is restructuring its European network as of 8 January 2024. The new road haulage service, dubbed Groupage Network 2.0, aims at improving efficiency, reducing transport times and increasing frequencies in Europe.
Previously, only highly industrialised regions benefitted from this type of service; now, there will be daily departures from all European regions to any desired destination on the continent. Shipments will first make their way to the country gateway, which will act as the main regional transshipment point.
From there, they will be taken to the central hub in Hilden, Germany, where the goods will be consolidated and dispatched. The network will span 150 locations in Europe and cut transit times for groupage freight traffic by around 34%. (mk)
