Fast Lines Belgium orders two green freighters
Fast Lines Belgium, an Antwerp-based family-owned transport company, has signed a contract with Damen Shipyards for the delivery of two Combi Freighters 3850. These vessels, which will fly the Belgian flag, are part of Fast Lines' commitment to investing in cleaner and smarter ships.
To minimise emissions economically, Fast Lines explored various options, including alternative bio-fuels, and the latest advancements in design and efficiency. The chosen CF 3850 vessels, equipped with Damen's Triton Remote monitoring system, offer optimal energy efficiency and provide real-time data on fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Fast Lines believes that these vessels will provide a valuable commercial advantage by reducing fuel consumption and emissions, thus confirming its commitment to sustainability. The CF 3850 is recognised for having the lowest Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) in the short sea cargo vessel market. (pb)
