Farewell to US freight division
GLS Group has sold its US freight division to a North American less-than-truckload trucking and warehousing provider, which will enable it to focus on expanding its parcel delivery portfolio in the USA.
DC Logistics has acquired both GLS US Freight and GLS US Business Solutions, boosting its ambitions to become a Top 20 LTL carrier within the country. GLS’s freight services in other markets will remain unaffected by this sale.
Set to close on 1 September, the transaction will see both companies individually strengthening their main business. General Logistics Systems US will continue to operate GLS’ core US parcel activities in the American market. (mk)
