Facility for hazardous materials

Imperial Logistics opened a new hazardous materials warehouse near Osnabrück (Germany) in December. The site, which features the latest safety and environmental protection systems, has created 70 new jobs.

Imperial Logistics has been honing its expertise in chemical logistics for more than 30 years and works with many major chemicals companies.

Michael Pohl, director business unit chemical said: “Because of our specialisation in this sector, and our close relationship with the key players, we discovered that there was a need for hazardous goods warehousing in the region."

The 12,500 sqm warehouse can accommodate 20,000 pallets of chemicals on a 2.8 ha site. The varying storage needs of different clients will be met in this new multi-user facility. Goods in almost all hazmat classes will be stored in solid, liquid or gaseous form on racks or in blocks. (mw)
