Extending rail connections from Germany to Xi'an
DHL Global Forwarding has launched two new block train connections from Germany to China. Trains departing from the German KTL terminal on the BASF site in Ludwigshafen travel via Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan to the destination terminal in Xi'an in the Chinese province Shaanxi.
In addition, an express train link has been launched between Neuss (Germany) and Xi'an via Kaliningrad (Russia), reducing the transit time to 12 days. The new services cover both less-than-container-loads (LCL) and full-container-loads (FCL).
The introduction of complete block train routes from Europe to China reflects the growing demand for imports and increased speed for deliveries to Asian countries, complementing DHL's already existing block trains from Xi'an and Chengdu to Europe, the forwarder said. (ben)
