Expanding SF Airlines has hub plans for Chengdu
SF Airlines, a Shenzhen-based airfreight brand within the SF Holding, recently added the 49th and 50th full freighter aircraft to its fleet, "thus officially becoming a medium-size airline", as the privately held Chinese company pointed out.
Only a few days later, SF Airlines launched another international route - Lanzhou-Bangkok. The carrier now covers 14 cities and regions internationally. The new service, deploying a B757-200F, will mainly transport general cargo and fresh products.
It has been reported that the company, which performed its first flight in 2009, is pushing ahead with its future plans by developing a cargo hub in Chengdu. Once operational, it will operate as a multi-modal gateway to the operations in western and southern China, after those it already operates in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. (ah)
