Expanding facilities in port of Hirtshals
The Port of Hirtshals, a multipurpose hub on the coast of Skagerrak at the northern tip of Denmark, is adding further quay areas and ro-ro berths, thus improving its loading/unloading opportunities.
The expansion includes commercial land and parking areas for trucks. The gateway is also adding a new entry and outer port basin, to improve navigational conditions. This will allow larger vessels to call at the port in more difficult weather conditions.
Chairman Anker Laden-Andersen believes that “improved facilities at the port will also enable the sector to plan solutions that go easier on the environment.” (cd)
