Expanded cooperation to reduce 50,000 t of CO2
In Sweden, railfreight operator Real Rail, which is part of Sandahl, and the Swedish state-owned carrier Green Cargo are strengthening their ties to continue to offer climate-smart transportation from north to south for Swedish businesses.
On the Helsingborg-Nässjö-Umea-Lulea route and the Gothenburg-Umea-Ange-Lulea route, three full trains roll in each direction, five days a week, with intermodal shuttles containing perishable goods and industrial freight. These services will reduce 50,000 t of carbon emissions in 2020 alone.
Furthermore, the two companies intend to expand their timetable and are planning a new route between Stockholm and Gothenburg in the near future. (ben)
