Evans to lead in Australia


Clint Evans has been appointed as a director of the industry association Shipping Australia, which comprises 30 shipping companies, shipping agents and towage providers and over 40 corporate associate members.

 

Evans began his shipping career in 1995 when he joined shipping agency John T. Rennie & Sons as a trainee on an internship programme. Over the last 26 years he has been working in agency, freight forwarding, supply chain and liner shipping in South Africa, the Middle East, India and, more recently, back in Australia.

 

In his current role, as the Oceania managing director for Hapag-Lloyd, Evans was actively involved in the implementation of the carrier's strategy throughout the region. During his career, he has been a chairman of the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents of South Africa (Richards Bay) and a director of several companies such as Inchcape Shipping Services (Bahrain), Inchcape Shipping Services (Qatar), United Arab Shipping Agency Company (India) and Hapag-Lloyd (Australia).
