Eva Air expanding with new Airbus widebodies
Eva Air has finalised an order for six Airbus A350-1000 and three A321neo aircraft, bringing its total backlog to 24 A350-1000s and 18 A321neos.
The A350-1000, offering a range of up to 18,000 km and around 20–24 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity per flight, will strengthen Eva Air’s long-haul network and support its freight operations. "The A350-1000 sets a new standard in fuel efficiency, passenger comfort and cargo lift, enhancing our market position,”"said Clay Sun, president of Eva Air.
Airbus highlighted the A350’s capability to operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) today, targeting 100% SAF use by 2030. The A321neo, part of the highly successful A320neo family, will bolster the regional growth strategy of the Taiwan-based carrier. More than 640 A350s already fly worldwide today, serving both passenger and cargo markets. (ah)
