European inland ports gather in Vienna
For the European Federation of Inland Ports (Efip), the Trans European Network for Transport (TEN-T) plays a fundamental role in the efforts to meet the European Green Deal goals.
At their annual general meeting in Vienna, Austria last week, Efip members debated the following key issues: emphasis on multimodal transport, integration of railfreight corridors, the recently introduced Good Navigation Status (GNS) and an increased focus on climate resilience. These requirements are essential to ensuring the strength and success of the European logistics sector in the future.
At the AGM, the Markiezaat Container Terminal in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands, an inland terminal located between Antwerp and Rotterdam, was welcomed as a new Efip member. After the event, the participants were invited to visit the port of Vienna. (lh)
