Euro 6000 to operate along the rail highway
Rail & Truck Strait Union (RTSU), the future operator of the "Autopista Ferroviaria Algeciras-Zaragoza", and rail leasing company Alpha Trains have signed a long-term finance lease agreement for seven locomotives from Stadler Rail.
The Euro 6000s will be manufactured entirely at the Albuixech plant in Valencia, Spain, and delivery of the new locomotives is scheduled for 2024 - 2025.
RTSU was established by CMA CGM, Eco Rail and Marcotran specifically for the operation of the rail highway. This new line will enable sustainable and intermodal goods transports from Algeciras in the south to Zaragoza in the north of the peninsula and later to Europe. (ben)
