EU-UK overland transport resumed
DB Schenker, an affiliate of Deutsche Bahn, has resumed deliveries to and from the UK. The company halted the processes on 13 January due to “significant” problems caused by post-Brexit red tape, as was said in a press release.
Trouble with clearing customs is a consequence of Brexit, and the disruption to cross-border trade also led the parcel delivery firm DPD to temporarily suspended deliveries into the EU on 8 January.
Now, DB Schenker is coming back, though a week ago the company estimated that only about 10% of goods commissioned to deliver had the correct customs documentation. (ben)
